The IMI connects knowledgeable faculty, talented students and university resources, with our business partners’ real world problems and opportunities. Together they create innovative solutions, which provide economic growth and development opportunities.The 21st century demands new solutions; since the year 2000 we have witnessed the mapping of the human genome, the rise of cloud computing and social media, the restructuring of the global economy, the increasing mobile workforce, the emergence of pandemic health viruses and the digitalization of individual health records. All are interrelated opportunities requiring new thinking —a hybrid, cross-disciplinary approach. Informatics is this new forward thinking discipline.
